Ian Barker, Director of Coaching Education, United Soccer Coaches (NSCAA)

I have known Kristi Beckman for several years as I served as her mentor on the NSCAA Master Coach Diploma. She was an impressive and dedicated professional who I consider a peer and friend.  Kristi is a leader in soccer development and is accomplished in the technical and tactical aspects of the game. She is a teacher, a collaborator and a leader in equal measure with a  refreshing vibrancy that inspires players. During our time together in coaching education Kristi developed a functional/positional training curriculum which is an impressive and contemporary piece of work that address the “four components” of soccer. Her experience  and knowledge, personality and character make her perfectly equipped to assist young athletes in their student-athlete journey.  Kristi is a colleague and a friend.

I’ve been lucky enough to coach with Kristi since 2014 and can attest that she’s an outstanding coach.  She's has an advanced understanding of the game at all levels and is a great teacher of the game - technique, tactics, strategy, fitness and health... along with hard work and positive energy.  Just talking to her you quickly see her love and knowledge of the game.  It’s refreshing.  But Kristi’s best attribute is she really cares about her players.  She will invest time with them, listen to them and really teach them the game.  Helping players is really important to her, She gets it!.

Coach Beckman served as our Men's assistant coach at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) for three years as the college transitioned from club status to full membership in the National Junior College Athletic Association.  She was a tremendous asset for our institution and helped build a world class soccer program. She is well connected and established within the club/travel program in the Northern Virginia area as well as within the area high schools for collegiate recruiting.

Coach Beckman has helped me grow as a human being on and off the field. She has played a major role in turning me into a fierce collegiate soccer player. The whole college process is confusing and i wouldn't be attending Randolph-Macon without her help. I can't thank her enough for the amount of care and time she's invested in me.

I am a former player for Kristi Beckman, I played for her at Barca FC of northern Virginia. I later transferred to D.C United with her assistance. She became a mentor when I was playing for D.C United and she also knew I had the capabilities as a player to play professional soccer. With Coach Beckman's assistance, I got offers from George Mason University, Boston College, University of North Carolina, University of Maryland, and more. I want to thank Coach Beckman and her family for the love they have for me and what they have done for my family.

CB Soccer helped me grow both professionally and personally, both on and off the field. During my time playing at D.C United Academy, Coach Beckman's direction and inspiration  helped me take control of my day to day efforts, that were affecting my future and were a huge part of instilling a sense of responsibility in me, as well as a spirit of life long gratitude, humility, and ambition. I am playing Division I soccer at ODU and pursuing my college degree. I thank Coach Beckman for getting me where i am.
